To preserve a rich moral and cultural inheritance, wich is a great part of Islamic Religion-the holy faith of our nation, to study ideas and works of great scholars grew up in our part of the world, deeper and from different point of viewpoints. To analyse and develope them so that, they are up to date, to conduct scientific research in this field to make sure that experienced and knowledgable specialists in the field, wich meet present reqirements, are availible,to create appropriate working conditions as well as to develope religious awareness of our nation relating the unique sources in this field left by our previous generations.
1. Establish Tashkent Islamic University under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tashkent Islamic University will conduct its activities in accordance with law and regulations relating higher education and scientific research organisations as well as with Buerau of Moslems of Usbekistan to use its long term experienceis In the field of religious education. 2. Put the following as the main goal of the University: To make sure that basics of the religious science, ist orientations scientific research principles, history of Islamic Religion, its philosofy and their role in a society and life together with the related guestions as well as to prepare highly qualified spesialists-Bacelors and Masters and also improve skills of availible spesialists, so that they have a deep knowledge of modern studies and are able to deal successfullygovernment, social and religious organisations. To learn the experiences of world well known educational centers in teaching of Islam, in order to prepare experienced specialists in the related field, to analyse and create such a quality of educationial aspects at the Tashkent Islamic University that meets modern reqirements on the ground of great scientific, moral richness of our nation and to prepare successsful specialists in Islamic studies. To renovate the rich religious scientific-theoretical inheritance of our previous generations, to analyse and develope them to collect the results of research works and make them available to the mass in a summarised form. To find out the role and importance of Islam in the region, in our country and worldwide at present multireligious situation through studying the role of Islam in the world civilization. For the sake of systematic educational system and the society at large to create and publish religious, in particular scientific popular works in Islamic education and philosofy, study works curiiculum programm and equipments. Run a joint activity with the leading foreign countries education and scientific centers, involve experienced specialists in this field from abroad. 3. Research, investigate and implement successful achievments of the world in organizing a good quality study process, two stage education standards of higher education direction, main rules and the University system. 4. Form the scientific pedagogical staff of the University mainly from personel, working in a system of the Board of Moslems of Uzbekistan, also specialists, improved their skills at the foreign educational scientific centers and experienced specialists in this field. 5. Found following two faculties in the University: Faculty of History and Philosofy of Islam. Faculty of Islamic Law (Fikh), Economics and Natural Sciences.
6. Found Scientific Center and Academic School. Look for providing and provide scientific and educational process with modern research pedagogical and communication tecnology. 7. In order to collect, register, and save in a good condition of sources existing in the world and in our country to save for future Generation found the Tresury of Source. 8. Establish Fund of Development of the University. As a main financial sources detennine followings: State scholarships, contract payments, private and organizational sponsorship from abroad, intemational investments, charity fees and self activity earnings. Make free the Fund from customs fees and all kind of taxes for 5.years. 9. All organizational activities concerning the establishment of the Universiti be finished till July, 1999. 10. Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Usbekistan adopts a statement in a period of ten days concerning the implementation of this Declaration. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan I. The Uzbek State World Languages University was created on May 1992 as a result of merging two institutions - Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages and Republican Pedagogical Institute of Russian Language and Literature.
The University aims to train highly-skilled experts in Philology, Linguistics, Journalism, combining in its work with latest achievements in these fields and using international experience in higher education.
More than 1,300 academic staff successfully teach, develop new teaching methods and conduct extensive research on important subjects. University regularly conducts scientific researches on linguistics, typology of languages, methods of teaching, etc.
During the last ten years the University published 35 textbooks, about 60 manuals and 44 teaching programs.
At present twenty three languages are taught at the University: Italian, Greek, Dutch, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Malaysian, Indonesian, Afrikaans, Hindi, Urdu, Hebrew, Polish, Latin and Uzbek. English, German, French, Spanish, Russian are taught more than 50 years already.
There are the following faculties in the University: 2 Faculties of English philology, Faculty of German philology, Faculty of French philology, Faculty of Spanish philology, Faculty of Russian philology, Translation/Interpretation faculty, Faculty of International Journalism, Faculty for Masters Degree studies, Faculty of Upgrading the qualification of Foreign Language Teachers in the Republic, post graduate studies and Doctoral Studies Departments.
Besides, there is the Republican Language Learning Centre, Academic Lyceum for Advanced Language Learning and Business school functioning at the University.
Aiming at preparation of highly qualified specialists philologists, translators/interpreters and journalists, the Uzbek State World Languages University is interested in establishing and development of co-operation with higher educational institutions.
It is worth to carry out University administrators exchange to get acquainted with the activities of Universities and hold talks on mutual co-operation which include:
1) exchange of teachers of higher educational institutions for retraining, upgrading the qualification, studying the methods of teaching and exchange of experience;
2) exchange of students to study and participate in language courses (short and long term);
3) exchange of masters degree students (short and long term);
4) scientific exchange (conducting joint authors groups to write textbooks and manual, joint work on International Tempus projects, organisation and participation on international conferences, seminars, symposiums and different youth forums)
5) exchange of educational, methodological literature and the literature on country studies;
